Choices

by Linda Coors on August 8, 2011

We all have choices. We can choose to take a 15-minute walk or sleep an extra 15 minutes. How many times do we make excuses because we just don’t have enough time? It’s easy enough to sit at a computer and mindlessly surf the internet for 15 minutes because we say, “I only have 15 minutes. That’s not enough time to do anything else.” But, it really is enough time to get out and enjoy the day and observe a little bit of nature or get a little bit of exercise in. Watch your choices throughout the day and anytime you can, make the choice to COME ALIVE OUTSIDE. Share what choices you are making to do this a little at a time.

I’ve started riding my bike to work. I live about 5 miles from work and it only takes me about 20 minutes by bike, instead of 15 (rush hour) by car. I feel very invigorated when I get to work, and coming home is a great way to unwind. I’m taking advantage of the mostly nice weather here in Virginia, and I’d sure like to see a lot more people do so.
