My dog’s name is Del. She’s really, really nice and friendly. Also, she loves to be walked. When we play, we run around and toss one of her toys.
Del sleeps on a dog bed in my room every night. In the morning she waits for me to get up before she goes downstairs. Then I let her out for a few minutes in the backyard. When I open the patio door, sometimes I want to go outside with her because there are birds chirping. I see the big pine tree that I could hide in and it smells good. Especially when it’s sunny.
But first I need to have breakfast and start my school day. Plus I get to watch Brainpop most mornings too. They show an educational movie every day.
At first it’s cute when she starts making little noises. It’s close to her walk time. After a bit, if I don’t come fast enough, the complaining gets louder and then it’s not so cute. But by the time I’m putting on my shoes, Del is looking at her lead and wagging her tail excitedly.
When I walk her, after she has done her business, she starts to walk quickly. When she was younger, she would have run. One time we encountered a bee and she started nipping at it. The bee flew away but my dog had a lot of fun!
Sometimes while I am walking Del, I have flashbacks. Awhile ago I left my Polly Pockets on the floor. Del chewed on it. But, while I was crying, she came over and started licking me.
We have lots of other dogs in the neighborhood. Sometimes I will stop and talk to other dog owners and Del will sit, lay down, or sniff around while she waits for us to talk. There was a day that one of the puppies came over and started to lay down with “pup.” When that happened, I swear that I could see her roll her eyes! 🙂
There are lots of reasons to go outside. I like to hang out with my friends and go walking around the neighborhood together maybe. Some days we chase zombies or play war – with Nerf guns of course. But one of the important reasons to go outside is to have fun with my dog!
