Winter Snow Sports to Keep You Active

by Linda Coors on December 30, 2011

There is a great article titled “Stay Active Outdoors this Winter with Snow Sports” on the Cleveland Clinic Wellness 360-5 website. Here you can read about the following winter activities:

  • Snow Winter SportsSnowshoeing – ideal for families and is a great low-impact cardiovascular exercise
  • Cross-country skiing – one of the best allover body workouts
  • Winter hiking – no special equipment needed and resistance of snow makes it more of a cardiovascular challenge than summer hiking
  • Ice skating – cardiovascular and strengthening activity that feels more like play than a workout
  • Skate skiing – a cross between ice skating and cross-country skiing

There is also a great video on their page about winter sports, so make sure to click on it while there.

Heya i’m for the first time here. I found this board and I am finding It really helpful & it helped me out a lot. I am hoping to provide one thing back and help others such as you helped me.

Hey Clevelanders,

There are over 120 miles of hiking trails in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park!

Anywhere from easy, flat Towpath Trail to more difficult, vigorous climbs up in the hills.

Great family activity year-round.

See you on the trail somewhere!

Spot on with this write-up, I seriously believe that this site needs far more attention. I’ll probably be returning to read more, thanks for the information!
