Hiking and Biking Trails – Song Encouraging Us to Come Alive Outside

by Linda Coors on September 27, 2013

We had the pleasure of meeting Sheri Bone, Director of Group Program Business Development at the Pocono Environmental Education Center (PEEC), at the Come Alive Outside Event held at Strauser Nature’s Helpers on July 31, 2013, and she is very excited about helping people learn about family-friendly activities at the park and encouraing families to use the trails and facilities there to help people have healthier lifestyles.

She shared a great little song about hiking and biking the trails. Check it out in the video, and then learn to sing it and share it with children you know. It’s easy because it uses the tune to “Jingle Bells.”

I Can Hike Outdoors (to the tune of “Jingle Bells)

I can hike outdoors
I can bridge the gap
I can raise my health and I don’t need an app.

There’s a national park
Right in my backyard
And hiking helps my health
And it’s not very hard.

Oh, hike the trails.
Bike the trails.
I can bridge the gap
I can be more healthy, and I don’t need any app.

Oh, hike the trails
Bike the trails
I can bridge the gap
National park in my backyard
I can bridge the gap!
