Smart Company: Fisher Snowplows
Dedication to quality and service has been a tradition at Fisher Engineering right from the start. They’ve been manufacturing snowplows in the coastal city of Rockland, Maine, for over six decades. And through those years, FISHER® snowplows have earned a solid reputation for performance and reliability among loyal commercial snowplowers.
Today, Fisher offers a wide range of snow and ice control equipment for the professional snowplower. From rugged straight-blades, to hard-working V-plows and a versatile expanding-moldboard model, Fisher offers high-capacity solutions for every plowing need. A full-line of tailgate and hopper spreaders completes the product offering.
For Fisher, customer feedback remains the key to developing viable products.
“Through roundtable discussions, customer visits and end-user surveys, we routinely solicit voice-of-customer input to help develop and improve our product offering,” said Andrew McArdle, Fisher Engineering product manager. “As A Better Way Community and Come Alive Outside sponsor, we expect to enhance our opportunity to network with additional top industry professionals.”
Fisher also demonstrates a commitment to the Planet through a number of ongoing initiatives.
And although not required in the United States, Fisher is voluntarily making a sustained effort to assure RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive) compliancy. This European Union law, enacted in 2003, restricts Lead, Mercury, Cadmium, Hexavalent Chromium and PBB/PBDE (flame retardants in plastics). Fisher is 95% RoHS compliant on metal parts and hardware and expects to be 100% in the near future. Proactively pursuing environmental responsibility policies and procedures, not only internally but also throughout their extended supply chain, should help assure continued success as a market leader.
