Examples from the Pilot Program

Watch the videos below to see how colleges and high schools in the 2014 Pilot Program collaborated with young students to create some incredibly original designs!

Brigham Young University-Idaho:

BYU-Idaho horticulture and design students worked with students from Madison High School to design a new playground for BYU-Idaho’s preschool. After getting input from the preschoolers, the older students created a design that incorporates the needs and wants of the younger students in a natural playground setting that encourages imaginative play and exploration.

North Carolina State:

Horticulture and landscape architecture students from NC State teamed up with students from Wakefield High School to redesign an outdoor classroom and playground for Albert Root Elementary School. Driven by the passion of the NC State students and their younger partners, this project is already in the early planning stages of being built by partnering with local landscape contractors and non-profits.
