2020 Design Challenge
On October 29th and 30th, teams of post-secondary landscape design students will work together with younger students and design professionals to design a new natural schoolyard!
WELCOME TO THE DESIGN CHALLENGE!
Due to COVID-19 the Design Challenge will work a little bit differently, but the outcome will be the same: People of all ages working together to design nature back into our lives!
There has never been a more important time for all generations to work together to create nature-rich spaces where we live work and play.
This year, teams of designers will work together remotely with the students, teachers and parents at St. Michael Catholic and Nicholson Catholic College to design a nature-rich schoolyard in Belleville, ON.

The virtual design charrette teams will be lead by the fun and talented group of landscape design professionals at Wentworth Landscape and Brydges Landscape Architecture!

MEET THE STUDENTS!
Teams of landscape design students from Niagara College, Seneca College and the University of Guelph will work together with teams of Grade 6-10 students from Nicholson Catholic College.
Prior to the online design charrette, Nicholson students will complete a site analysis through a series of activities with their classes. The results of these site analyses will be discussed with the older students to create a basis for new design concepts for the schoolyard.
