About The Program

The Come Alive Outside Design Challenge creates the opportunity for college, high school, elementary and preschool students to work together with landscape professionals to design and build natural schoolyards and playspaces in communities across North America!

2019 Design Challenge

In October of 2019, Wentworth Landscapes, Brydges Landscape Architecture, Gelderman Landscape and Landscape Ontario hosted teams of landscape design students from Algonquin College, Niagara College, Ryerson Univeristy, Seneca College, and University of Guelph to participate in a design charrette with students and teachers from Archbishop O’Sullivan Catholic School in Kingston, Ontario.

Using the input and ideas generated during the charrette, the teams created final proposals for a new natural playground and schoolyard. View all of the submission below!
